Great kit with everything you need!
Great kit to learn or relearn how to crochet. Comes with yarn, eyes, etc., tools needed, and instructions for all six animals depicted. Additionally, you can scan a QR code to be directed to some tutorial videos which are fairly easy to follow. The tools aren’t top notch, but I didn’t expect them to be considering this is a beginner kit. They aren’t bad quality by any means, though. This kit also provides some practice yarn to get the techniques down before attempting with the yarn intended for each animal. Which I thought was awesome, and saves you time of having to undo crotcheting if this yarn wasn’t provided. Although, I will warn, the practice yarn is pretty low quality. This wouldn’t be an issue at all, except it does create a bit of a barrier when attempting to learn/relearn the techniques. I highly suggest re-twisting the yarn as tightly as possible and knotting the end before using it to practice. Otherwise, it does become quite frustrating as it easily unwind itself. The yarn for the projects seems to be better quality, though. So, if you’re already well versed and plan to jump right in to crotcheting the animals you shouldn’t have any issues there. Definitely worth the money, I’d say.

I wouldn’t say that I’m into amigurumi, but it is what got my started on my crochet journey, and having made of a few of them now (this whole kit in fact), I can say that I’m improving. This is a very good kit. It has all of the yarn, more than enough, for each doll, eyes, stitch markers, and a hook, patterns and tutorials. The patterns are sound with the exception of one thing: THE EYES. I began with the dinosaur pattern. That pattern very specifically tells you what row and stitches to insert the eyes on. Then I made the blue penguin. It does not. In fact, you’ll finish the whole body of the penguin, stuff, and close it, and it doesn’t mention the eyes until you’re doing the finishing touches. I did manage to insert them after the fact, and rearrange the stitches around them, but that’s a pretty major oversight. I liked the yarn and think it made nice dolls with good stitch definition. In the pictures, you’ll notice that the unicorn is a little larger than the other dolls. I was struggling with tension and decided to increase my hook from a 2.5mm to 3.0 mm and actually I like the larger size better, but I don’t know if there would be enough yarn in the end to do all of the dolls at that size. Judging by my yarn remainders, I would say probably not.

Crochet is a great activity for kids
Bought this as a gift for my niece as her first crochet kit. Crochet is a great activity for kids – its easy to start and takes very little to get started. The kit includes all the materials to get started including the tools and the yarn. You can certainly buy additional yarn from your local crafts store to match the tools included here. Also a good idea to watch a few Youtube vidoes before you get started to make it easier for you to learn crochet the right way. It’s hard to follow instructions by reading a manual so it helps to watch some videos.

The yarn in this kit is good enough. The instructions were OK for a beginner, which is great, since some beginner kits don’t have good enough instructions for a beginner. There is enough yarn to make the animals. The crochet hook is a good size for the projects. This is a fun set!

Perfect for beginners, young and old alike
Although this product seems to be marketed for children/teens, I ordered this for myself. I have always wanted to learn to crochet and this kit had everything I needed to get started. The kit comes complete with materials to make the animals on the cover of the packaging. It wasn’t too overwhelming of a project to attempt a new hobby. I am so impressed at how soft the yarn is. I especially love the easy to follow instructions and the booklets for each animal. This is a great kit if you’ve always wanted to try crocheting but have been holding back for any reason.

This kit has everything except scissors for you to make six crochet animals. While the carton has a picture of snips, they are omitted.I am an experienced crocheter and knitter, and I create small items that are donated to children overseas. I also enjoy helping young girls get into the hobby. I was hoping to use these kits to help young girls get started in the hobby, but I don’t believe these kits are suitable for beginners.For example, the elephant pattern used the term “penultimate hole” without defining it. Penultimate means second-to-last. A penultimate hole or stitch is the same thing and refers to the second-to-last stitch in a row or pattern. This is not an issue when there is an adult to help. The elephant has weird ears I had to try to pin them back so that people wouldn’t see the back of the ears are pink.The fox had a tough spot to figure out with the beard. The pattern uses the term “1s1st”, and this typo should be 1slst (l not one), where slst is in the abbreviation list and refers to a slip stitch.I have decided to complete all the other animals and give the girls the finished animals. While the wool and patterns have value, the bottom line is that this is an expensive kit, and I am not convinced this is good for the average beginner.

I really want to learn how to crochet, especially cute animals, so I grabbed this seemingly perfect package! One of the main reasons for picking this one because it comes with step by step videos and as a visual person I need this, it also comes with written instructions too if that works better for you! The patterns look easy to follow and it literally comes with everything you need to get started. I haven’t got to start one yet, but holidays soon, so I will update my review annnd include a picture!

This is my third kit like this, and despite them being different brands, they are all pretty much the same. Same yarn, same hooks, same notions, same patterns. They are not really beginner friendly, as there are a few minor errors in the patterns (like when and how to install the safety eyes), which a beginner wouldnât catch. Aside from that, they are pretty great kits, and come with everything you need, all of decent quality. The yarn is unique, and feels like a mid level yarn. It is soft and decent to work with, and the colors are nice. I hate using the included 2.5 mm hook, it kills my hands and I can only stitch a little at a time, but that is more of a personal preference thing.
