Very handy for people who peel alot of eggs. I make pickled eggs and deviled alot. Makes peeling much nicer. Poke, boil, cold bath and peel away.

this is easily the thing that results in the easiest to peel hard boiled eggs i have ever made, and i was a freaking culinary student! old eggs peel great, fresh eggs peel great, ice bath or no ice bath, didnât even bother testing baking soda. the eggs peel easy every single time. i will grant, though, that using an icebath made the egg itself more stable when peeling so you donât need to be as gentle but even a completely fresh out of the pot egg peeled easily and only lost a tiny bit of eggwhite cuz i was rushing a little too much. only caveat is that you should wipe off the needle after use to ensure longterm cleanliness. in all cases, this thing fully deserves 5 stars and iâd personally give it 6 if i could.in short, if you like hard boiled eggs, buy one of these.boiling times used after bringing water to a full rolling boil:10 minutes: full hard boil, yolk fully cooked unless immedistely peeled, no green yet so this is the sweet spot for making egg salad and deviled eggs and the like.8 minutes: not quite fully cooked, maybe 40-50% yolk cooked with goey core.6-7 minutes would likely result in cooked whites but raw yolk if that is what youâre looking for ( i prefer egg salad though so i didnât test this duration yet)

It punched a hole in the eggshell as it was built to do, but my eggs sure weren’t easier to peel. Gave it a three since it may be a user issue, not a gadget issue.

Works. Just be carful when you push down on the egg. Best if you carefully rock the egg on the pin and make sure the pin goes all the way in.

I’ve had several egg piercers this one is the easiest to use. And it looks nice in my stainless kitchen. I used to do my eggs in boiling water and now I use a steamer with the big end pierced. The shell basically falls off
