Easy first cookbook for a guy with no cooking experience
Even if the guy is not a teen, this book has non-scary recipes for someone who does not cook. (And otherwise just does ramen, takeout and microwave meals.) In general, none of the recipes are too complex and are things he would actually choose to eat. Excellent starter cookbook.

  2. Gordon Rupe

    Great for My Teen !
My Son loves this book and uses it often – he has become quite the chef !

  3. T. Bell

    Growing up foodie!!
I gave this a birthday gift to my nephew and he loved it. Now if he could make recipes for his parents!

  4. E Hart

    Tweeking
I purchased this for my 16yr old daughter and wanted to review it before I give it to her. It is well put together, although I wished it would have showed samples of the different types of knives (paring, steak, ect), I would have rated this a 5 star EXCEPT for one thing: I feel that it should have at least, a 3×5 picture of the food being made, so that it can be compared to what the user’s finished product looks like. I think that would have been a big ego booster to the cook!!Yes, I would recommend this book.

  5. Jessica

    Easy recipes
This book would be PERFECT any cookbook for that matter if they just had a picture of every dish to have an idea what the end result should look like.

  6. Kari Pioquinto

    Great starter
Love this book great starter for kids/teens. I love how the book also has definitions and picture. For example the difference between chop and mince. My kid is enjoying it very much.

  7. EP

    Perfect gift for a teen!
So excited to gift this to my teen sister for Christmas! The recipes seem simple for her to execute. There is a lack of pictures in the book, but its otherwise great!

  8. Krista

    No pictures of recipes
I was super excited to give this to a teen who is learning how to cook. There are plenty of recipes and categories but my main complaint with this cookbook is that there are no pictures. None. Other than a picture to tell you which category you’re in. I just find it odd to have a cookbook for teens learning to cook with no pictures. If I would’ve known it didn’t have pictures of the dishes I wouldn’t have purchased.

  9. simonsma

Bought for my 12 year old Grandaughter, I think it’s the most brilliant book for learning to cook, so much useful information as well as recipes & each recipe marked if suitable for people with different dietary needs. I wish I’d had this book when I was 12!

  10. Plates are very useful

My granddaughter has found this book useful

  11. newsy

It would be great to at least show the image of the final product after cooking so we know what is expected.

  12. Jax

Granddaughter loved the book, it’s very clearly set out, has all the basic info on cutting and measurements. Picture is of the Peanut butter cookies, which were delicious

  13. Jay

The recipes seem practical, easy to follow and are for dishes my 12 y/o will actually eat. Unfortunately, the only photos of recipes are at the opening of a chapter. My 12-year-old wants to see what she’s making. Photos can provide tips on what to do with the recipe, too. Reluctantly keeping the book to try it out with her since the recipes should be easy to follow.
