While my wife and I both enjoy using shower steamers and bath bombs for the invigorating scents they provide, we are disappointed when we get ones where the fragrance advertised doesn’t seem to match the product’s actual scent. We decided that, offering only three different aromas, it was more likely that the manufacturer of these steamers would likely be more successful in capturing the scents accurately. Since citrus fragrances appeal to both of us, we ordered the set that contains orange, tangerine, and lemon eucalyptus.Smaller than a traditional bath bomb, these steamers are designed to be placed on the shower floor or a shelf away from direct water flow. Dissolving easily, they release the enticing scents of the essential oils used in their production.These steamers come in a set of three stacking metal containers; only the top one has a lid, forcing you to use the containers piled on top of each other so as to preserve freshness. There are seven pucks in each of the cans, each individually wrapped in plastic; the system seems to do a good job of maintaining the lovely smell of the contents.The steamers work as advertised, dissolving slowly when placed in the shower (depending, of course, on how much water they come in contact with) and produce a strong odour which lingers on for an extended period of time (in our case, well after the shower is over). Indeed, we find that they have a strong enough scent that we find we can extend their life by splitting them into halves or thirds; they seem to be just as effective! Once in a while, my wife will even pop a portion of one into the tub and use it as a bath bomb. The steamers dissolve completely without leaving any residue.I’m happy to report that the scents provided by the steamers were perfect! Both before and after placing them in the shower it was obvious what the smell was meant to be, a fairly impressive feat when you’re dealing with just citrus flavours.My only negative with this product is the packaging. It seems completely “over the top” to package the steamers in metal containers which, when their contents are used up, are likely going to be popped into the recycle bin. Using a resealable foil bag or a small gift box would be both more economical and more environmentally friendly while preserving the product’s scents.While, at their current price of $36 CAD, this set of twenty-one steamers may seem quite expensive; my wife and I view it as a convenient way to pamper ourselves; a mini spa treatment each day! We do appreciate the fact that the product only uses natural essential oils and is free of artificial colours and fragrances although cutting down on the packaging would serve to make it more eco-friendly. This an affordable luxury item which makes a great gift for others or a wonderful treat for yourself. Recommended!

There is very little about these shower steamers that I don’t like. I wasn’t sure at first as I don’t like anything with a strong scent or any kind of chemical smell. These are pure essential oils and natural ingredients; vegan, cruelty-free, dye-free, paraben-free, sulfate-free; all the things that are important to me.This comes in great packaging with a sturdy, colourful container divided into three sections, stacked on top of each other. Each section contains seven good sized pods/tablets, containing a blend of different essential oils designed to give you a different experience each time you shower. You simply put one in the corner of the tub or shower stall near the drain and turn on the water. The hot water starts to dissolve the tablet and releases a subtle fragrance. I am so glad that these aren’t overpowering and it’s nice that they leave a lingering scent after leaving the bathroom. The pods themselves last for a good 15 minutes in the shower and leave no ring or evidence that there has been anything there.There are a couple of things that would make this a perfect product. The container itself, while colourful, sturdy and unique, is difficult to open. I find I need to use both hands to lift one stack from the other. Possibly with time, it would be easier to open. It looks nice sitting on the bathroom countertop and even with the lid closed, emits a subtle fragrance. Lift the lid and you’ll get a stronger scent.It would also be nice if each separate container listed what essential oil pods were inside. The only way I could find out was inside was to lift off the lid. On top of the pods is an insert detailing what the blend of essential oils are. In time, one would know what was inside each separate container, but when the product is new and there are several blended oil varieties, you have to open each container to check. Last of all, these pods are not easy to open. They are each wrapped in their own layer of plastic wrap to preserve the fragrance. I was just about to step into the shower and unwrap the pod when I realized I couldn’t get it open. I had to get out, wrap a towel around me and get a pair of nail scissors to open it, so have a pair of scissors handy. If there was a small pull tab, it would be much easier to open.Regardless, these are top notch shower steamers and the fact that they are made with natural ingredients and without an overwhelming or chemical scent makes them a five star product for me. They do make me feel more revived and relaxed, particularly if I am feeling stressed out. At the current price, they work out to around $1.75 a pod which I feel is great value for what I get. I review a lot of products. This is one that I wouldn’t hesitate to gift to someone and is also a product that I would order again.
