Two cards out of this set specifically mention “woman” and it’s clear that women were the target audience for these, which I understand. Most traditional men are not interested in things like this, and women deserve to stand equally with men even when it comes to product design. They could have chosen to replace both instances with the word “person” instead, to make this set more universal, but since it’s only 2 cards out of the whole set that have this, it’s nothing to make a fuss about.The included wooden stand is a very nice touch, and a welcome feature being able to display any card easily. It holds the cards well in an upright position, and while it bears the Clever Fox logo on the front, it’s hard to fault them for that.The cards themselves are of a nice thick and sturdy card stock quality, and should hold up well to normal use for a very long time. They feel smooth to the touch, and are matte rather than glossy. There are 5 different designs spread across the various cards, but these are decidedly modern and minimalist in style as a whole, with very neutral or earthy color tones. The backs of the cards have the same color as the face, and are completely bare, save for the small clever fox logo situated in the middle.A few of the affirmations miss the mark for me a little bit, either feeling too much like something based on societal expectations, or else a little shallow or generic feeling, but that’s just my opinion, so it’s not very important.Most of them are fine, and a few are even quite powerful, so there is really nothing to complain about with the overall quality of the affirmations presented here either. It’s clear that care was taken to choose beneficial wording and consideration for the person receiving these messages. That’s the most important part.The included box to store the cards and wooden stand is nice and sturdy as well, and the design is visually pleasant on all sides. Aside from the front art and the back of the box, the rest hints at the minimalist design of the cards too, which I thought was a nice touch.Overall I think most people would be pleased to receive a thoughtful gift like this, and it may even help someone improve their mental state or their everyday lives, especially if they could use a daily reminder of their own worth and lovable nature. If the recipient is a woman, or someone who can look past the fact these were intended for women primarily, and the minimalist visual style appeals to them, then these cards will very likely leave a positive impression on that person.
