Best cookbook I own
This cookbook has exceeded my expectations in a big way. I bought this for our family to start eating better in the new year and after two weeks, we have yet to have a mediocre meal. Every single recipe we have tried so far have been unbelievably delicious! My husband and I have always eaten pretty healthy but we found ourselves doing “easy solutions” for our kids (nuggets, turkey dogs, PB&J). This cookbook both meets mom and dad’s dietary requirements and our kids think they are yummy. Each recipe has been easy to read and make, quick, healthy and so good. Last night, my husband excitedly said “can’t wait to try tomorrow’s recipe!” My daughter thought that the polenta cakes with tomatoes and mushrooms was “better than chicken nuggets”. My son said that the angel hair pasta with goat cheese and veggies was “yummo” (said between shoveling in his mouth). I love the pictures, tips on each recipe, and all the dietary info for each meal (if you are tracking). One of my favorite things is that healthy stuff is hidden in each meal, arugula in the pasta or cauliflower in mac and cheese. This truly is a cookbook for busy families, with meals that kids truly do love. I can’t wait to try every single meal in this book.

Easy but creative dishes
I liked seeing all the nutrition facts and tips amongst the recipes and tons of pictures. I like that just because itâs a short ingredient list or short instructions it doesnât lack flavor. Some recipes are family favorites that are made healthier, which I love! I have shied away from some of my family favorites because the amount of butter or sugar. I will definitely try these. I also like the feel of the book. It seems like it will hold up in the kitchen.

Great Recipes — even for plant eaters!
I don’t eat meat. I occasionally eat seafood. So I am usually skeptical about cookbooks that aren’t specifically for those on a plant based diet as they are filled with only meat options for the main course. Compared to other clean eating cookbooks the recipes are a lot simpler and quicker to make (and they don’t rely on any crazy, hard to find ingredients that require a trip to the health food store.) I have had success with quite a few recipes out of this book (the pistachio tilapia is awesome!) but had to make sure I was reading my labels well. There is some reliance on processed foods (corn chips, dijon mustard, etc.) so it depends on how you are eating clean. (I have found that the definition clean eating varies some person to person.) If your diet calls for no processed foods ever, this isn’t the book for you (unless you are willing to make everything from scratch – like mayo.) But if you are willing to read labels and find a “clean” or “cleaner” processed food without all the chemical preservatives, etc. this book would work for you. My family and I have really enjoyed it!

Unpleased with recipes
I wanted to like this book, but I’ve tried some of the recipes and they were not good tasting to me. I followed the directions exactly as written. Some of the procedures didn’t work well, either. For example, one fish recipe that I tried resulted in one side of the fish scorched and the other gummy. And the fish pieces were really dried out. Maybe my oven runs hotter or colder than the author’s. Other dishes have not had flavors that I liked. Maybe the recipes will work for others, but they were not my favorites!

My shopping cart never looked so healthy!
I’m a mother of three young children and VERY busy with work and family so fast meals are just as important as healthy meals. I take this cookbook grocery shopping with me and feel so good looking into my shopping cart and seeing how many healthy veggies (many of which I had never tried before), whole grains and clean foods were in my cart. Cooking recipes from this cookbook saved me time because it helped take the guesswork out of what to have for dinner, etc. I feel good making healthy meals for my family that they like and my kids loved helping in the kitchen too.

Best Cookbook!
I LOVE this cookbook! Granted, some of the meals do take a little while to prepare and cook, but I’m far from being a skilled cook, and I can manage everything in here. It’s worth the extra five minutes they take me to get done. My husband loves the recipes in here, and I don’t think I’ve made anything that I wouldn’t eat again…within the last month or so, that adds at least 12 new meals to our family’s rotation! I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone looking to eat better, and have delicious dinners that aren’t crazy difficult to prepare.

Great book for busy, health conscious moms!
My first ever review . . . THAT is how much I love this book. I have only tried a few recipes, so far. My kids really liked the pecan crusted chicken (so did I). We also enjoyed the pinto bean and avocado taquitos. And I have many other recipes saved that sound yummy . . . and easy. Few ingredients; all of them are easy to find. I think this book is perfect for busy moms that want to make sure their families are eating healthy. I would definitely recommend it!!!

MISLEADING TITLE
The title of this book is misleading. There is nothing in here that my kids would eat, and they LIKE vegetables. All the recipes are time consuming, definitely NOT for busy families. As an example, some of the recipes include things like “Almond and Dill Crusted Barramundi Filets,” “Aragula and Shrimp Salad with Orange Vinaigerette,” and “Quick Polenta Griddle Cakes with Wild Mushroom & Cherry Tomato Saute.” This was just me randomly flipping to 3 recipes. All of them are too fancy and complicated for busy families, and each had more than 10 ingredients. If I could give this book ZERO stars, I would.

I have tried about five meals from the book so far and all of them were a hit! They are healthy and taste great. Hubby loved them and while my daughter is only 11 months right now, I’m sure she’ll like them down the road. Most meals were easy to prepare, some took a bit longer because of the peeling and chopping of veggies that was a bit time consuming. I might substitute some frozen veggies on evenings when I’m really strapped for time.

I read through the recipes during my kids swim lessons, recipes look fantastic lots of ideas and ingredients are reasonable for families trying to eat clean!

I was really unhappy with this book. There are lots of ingredients for every recipe and it isn’t as ‘clean’ as it makes out. I’d like to know where mayonaise and tacos are grown??!! It was a waste of money for me!

The salmon nuggets are to die for in this book….same with the potato salad….and the carrot cake …..and the braised pork buns. Cleaning Eating never tasted so yummy 🙂
