Great introductory set, lots of accessories to try out!
Both myself and my kids wanted to try our hand at some pottery basics without investing too much. This was a great assortment of tools and decorating items to try your hand at. The air dry clay was easy to work with, and wonderful you donât need to fire it. There was enough for me and two of my kids to make pieces and decorate them, and a little for my two year old to play with. A lot of fun as a family craft activity! And now we have a nice set of tools and things to use after we purchase more clay. Perfect for a day of (messy) family fun and creativity without needing to purchase a bunch of extras.

Pottery Kit for Beginners, starter amount of clay, acrylic paints, good gift idea.
I like this kit and think that the price listed at the time of this review in reasonable given the kit contents. The presentation and included materials and instructions is at the level of child or child accompanied by an adult. This would be a fun family night hobby or kid’s party or slumber party activity. Planning of course for the number of kids in attendance, you can buy bulk earthen air clay for reasonable value to add to this kit or add more kits, so everyone has tools. This kit offers a way to check out air dry clay and pottery to see if it is something to venture into further. Kits are always a great way to get a value price for the collection of tools needed to enjoy the craft. The clay dries well. Starts out seeming to be very wet, but that ends once you handle the clay. You can use the spray bottle to continue to re wet the clay and get rid of any cracks. Once you get your finished product completed and ready to dry, check it the first few hours to make sure you catch any cracks that may form. Or ad clay to heal it. Once the clay looks dry allow it to dry for a couple of days. I usually set my art room temp to 75 or 75, because this temp seems to be best for a lot of crafts: resin, candles, painting etc.Once dried fully, you can sand it, and paint it. You can also carve the dried clay or use a rotary tool. There are a lot of things you can do. Since I think this is simply not enough clay for a kit, I’d call this a two person kit, maybe even a one person kit. So, adding an order of bulk air dry clay, like this earthen pottery clay, would be a good idea if there are more children involved.Once dry, depending on the item, the clay is very strong.4 stars….. there could be more clay.

Nice Contents, Shame They’re Such a Mess!
This is a nice box full of some great beginner materials not only for pottery but also for general crafting. It’s even got a nice drawstring canvas bag to hold everything. My only real gripe, as someone else has noted, is the packaging: The box is just a banged-up cardboard box and there’s no organization to what’s inside. It feels very “grab bag” when a little bit of organization would’ve taken it to the next level. Still a great way to get into the hobby!

bad packaging
product itself is greast, but the box was open in the amazon box, no tape or anything holding it shut, stuff was everywhere. nothing in the box was separated or packaged well either, just all thrown in there willy nilly. makes it hard to use as a birthday gift so we got it out same day instead, works good but packaging was a big turn off.

Time for creativity
Many years ago I took ceramics classes. I wasn’t;t any good at it, but I enjoyed the process of hand building and found it therapeutic. This kit allows me to relive some of that experience without investing a ton of money. It comes with all the essentials you need to get started, including different colors of clay and mats. I especially like that it includes a rolling pin. Nobody is going to produce masterpieces with this kit, but kids or adults can have fun and be creative, and that’s the main point.

This is a great pottery set for beginners!1. Materials Included:Three clay bags: This gives you enough material to create multiple projects, which is great for practicing or making various items.Paints and brushes: These are essential for decorating the finished pottery. It looks like there is a variety of colors and sizes of brushes, which adds versatility.Sponges and roller: Helpful for shaping and smoothing the clay. The sponge can also be used for adding texture or smoothing edges.Texturing tools: The yellow block with ridges seems designed to add texture to the clay, allowing for creative designs.2. Instructions: The set includes an instruction sheet, which will guide you through the pottery process. Having clear instructions is always beneficial, especially if you’re new to pottery.3. Additional Accessories: The wooden tool and smaller accessories suggest you have items for finer details and sculpting.Overall, this set looks like a great starting point for exploring pottery. It contains everything needed to create, paint, and decorate various pottery pieces. The clay is of good quality and the instructions are clear, this is a very enjoyable craft set!
