Book was a gift and greatly appreciated
This book, 50 States, 5000 Ideas, was a birthday present for my brother who is an avid traveler and outdoorsman. He was thrilled with this gift and felt the book was laid out nice and user friendly. He began planning his next road trip before he left my house!

    Helpful travel planning book
Lots of great information in this book. The wire binding makes it easy to look through.

Amazing book with wonderful information and pictures. But choose hard cover, not the spiral bound.
When a friend indicated that after many worldwide trips, she would like to travel more in the USA, I decided to give her this book. And what a book is! It has so much information about what to see and do in each state, and provides amazing photos. It serves as a travel guide, and an impetus to see the country, whether one drives or flies. The book comes in hard cover or spiral bound. I thought the spiral would be lighter, and it is. But the spiral is flimsy. The book that arrived had the spiral a bit untangled at the end, and no matter what I did, I couldn’t put it back in place. I would suggest to get the hard cover version. It will probably last longer than this spiral version.

    Great retirement gift!
Great gift idea for anyone retiring! Bought this as a Mothers Day gift and she appreciated all the ideas as she approaches her retirement. Lots of cool places to go and see throughout the book, and nice pictures to accompany these recommendations! I would recommend 🙂

    Travel
Its a nice informative book with state by state highlights and a little history.

    250 pages / 50 states = 5 pages per state
Not sure why it surprised me, but 250 pages / 50 states = 5 pages per state. Each mentioned area gets one maybe 2 paragraphs. So yeah, a little sparse on details. Is it helpful… maybe, but I was looking for more specific places to visit. No maps included, but there are some beautiful pictures.

Great retirement gift for people who love travel
Great retirement gift option. It was a hit with my former employee who retired.

It’s a wonderful book for travel lovers. Also, although I bought used version, it’s in a great condition.

Bought this book to help with holiday planning of an epic road trip.Lots of good information about each state, highlights key cities and towns with points of interest. The only downside is that it doesn’t help with when to go to these states.Bit dissatisfied that it claims to tell you this on the cover, but doesn’t follow through on the inside…

This was a gift and well received. Lots of pictures and information for site seeing.

I love visiting the USA & am currently working towards visiting all 50 states. Normally before I visit a new state, I spend a while searching the internet for ideas of things to see & do.I had hoped that this book would cut down my researching time (after all it does have ‘5000 ideas’ in the title), maybe including lists with a 100 ideas per state but this wasn’t the case. It did give a spread per state, but the ideas side of things was disappointing. There were just bulky paragraphs to wade through & I certainly would be surprised if this lived up to the 5000 ideas claim.Overall, this book didn’t meet my needs so I ended up returning it. What works for me when I’m researching is bullet points or lists with minimal wording (anything that takes my fancy I can look into further). This didn’t seem to be any better for that than any other guide book & certainly no better than what information you can find online. If you’re looking for more limited information for each state in one place then this maybe more suitable for you.
