Great for Busy Families
(Markâs wife writingâ¦)Iâve had this cookbook for less than a month and have already made several of the recipes. They are simple, fast and delish, and have been a welcome addition to our busy weeknights⦠and EVERYONE in the family will eat these meals, which is a huge deal. The book has a very wide array of options which is nice. I like the tips/suggestions given. Our family faves so far: tortellini & sausage soup, ground beef & string bean stir-fry, and penne florentine. Excited to try more recipes this week!

So easy & so good!
The recipes are so straight forward, hassle free, and delicious. I honestly love the flavors of these simple recipes more than many âfancyâ & complicated recipes that make the same dish. I also like how many vegetables are incorporated to make it a healthy meal as well. I wish I had this book when I was a single 20 something⦠it would have been just as valuable then as it is with a family & busy schedule!

No pictures and pretty basic recipes
I was hopeful that this cookbook would revive my ambition in the kitchen⦠it has not. While I really liked the simplicity of 5-ingredient meals, it just translated into the equivalent of what I end of making when I donât know what to do for dinner and just throw a bunch of stuff together, except with fewer ingredient. There is one picture at the beginning of each section (intro, breakfast, soups & salads, etc), but that is it. What I do like about the cookbook is that each recipe has categories at the top- 30 minutes or less, gluten-free, one pot, etc. That does help with recipe selection of Iâm in a hurry, which does happen often in our busy house. The intro does include a sample weekly meal plan and a guide to creating your own, which is nice, but I would have to combine the recipes in this book with other more diverse recipes to cover a week. I would classify this cookbook as more of a beginner aid for those trying to figure out how to quickly make meals and learn to plan ahead than for anyone really wanting to explore new ideas and flavors.

Fun, easy recipes for adults and kids!
You’ll never have to wonder again ‘what’s for dinner’ with this cookbook. You just need 5 ingredients for any of these 100 recipes: family meals, breakfasts, soups/salads, pasta/grains, meat/seafood, vegetarian/sides, desserts. Another great thing about this book is that the instructions are really simple. Many recipes literally have 1-2 steps while others have up to 4-5 but they’re all EASY. Smith offers tips on how to make shopping easier while saving time and money but also has a focus on health and whole-food cooking. I’m so glad a registered dietitian authored a book like this! Her solid nutrition advice and balanced recipes are just perfect. You’ll find meal plans and equipment early in the book followed by familiar yet unique recipes in every chapter. I’ll be making the sheet pan breakfast bake, spicy peanut noodles, and buffalo cauliflower tacos again and again. This is an absolute must-have for your new year cooking!

A must-have!
This is my new go-to cookbook. The recipes are easy-to-follow, tasty, and wholesome. I have a very picky 3-year-old and am always looking for nourishing recipes with simple and flavorful ingredients. A few of our favorites so far are the Lemon Chicken Orzo Soup, Easy Baked Ziti Casserole, and the Sheet Pan Lemon-Garlic Salmon and Veggie Bowl. The Farro with Zucchini and Walnuts has also been the perfect item to keep in the fridge for a quick and nutritious lunch! With the rising cost of groceries, I love that I can prepare healthy meals for my family with just a handful of ingredients. This cookbook is perfect for those who are looking for quality over quantity. I was provided an advance copy by the publisher.

Easy to follow, crowd-pleasing recipes!
The Tomato Basil Gnocchi recipe has saved my life! Iâm a working mom with three kids whose food tastes vary. I refuse to make three different meals every day, so when I find a recipe that makes everyone happy, I treasure it. The best thing about the Tomato Basil Gnocchi is that it held up well in the fridge, so it went straight into the kidsâ lunch thermoses the next day. I canât wait to find more easy, crowd-pleasing recipes as I continue to cook from this book.
